Stilted writing. Writes without all words, expects you’ll understand. Frequently, subjects not in sentences, verbs missing, commas instead of conjunctions, articles optional. Strange clauses strung together as one sentence, all in one, as one. Words. Phrases. Without grammar. Just a period. Sentence structure awkward, reading exhausting, what’s happening unclear. Whew…OK. I just finished “The Iron Hunt” by Marjorie M. Liu and it’s very different from her ‘Dirk & Steele’ series. This is truly an urban fantasy, and a damn good one. The mysteries and the mystical pull you in and you can’t stop reading until you find the answers to all the questions.

I really can’t complain about this book, but sheesh I’m having a hard time saying I liked it even just a little…Like always Marjorie’s writing is flawless…But I just didn’t connect to the characters or the storyline. “The Iron Hunt” did get an extra star b/c of the basic weirdness/originality of the story…this lady has quite the imagination.
